A Postdoctoral Researcher position is available immediately in Dr. Valerie O’Brien’s lab in the Borch Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Purdue University. The lab website is www.vpobrienlab.com .

 


Job Description

The O’Brien lab is investigating how and why chronic infection with Helicobacter pylori drives gastric cancer development, in order to develop new strategies for preventing disease progression and reverting the gastric epithelium back to a healthy state. The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for data collection and analysis for projects focused on H. pylori pathogenesis, gastric immune profiling, and immune cell depletions and adoptive transfers in a new mouse model of gastric disease. Based on their interests, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to other ongoing projects including single-cell RNA-sequencing, and to build their teaching, mentoring, and grant-writing portfolios.
