Position Summary
The Qingyun Liu Lab at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is hiring a postdoc in the area of antimicrobial resistance. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing projects focused on the following:
1) Investigating the drug-resistance mechanisms that bacterial pathogens have evolved in clinical settings, including Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Mycobacterium abscessus, and Mycobacterium avium complex.
2) Identifying bacterial determinants causing drug resistance in clinical strains, associated with treatment outcomes, and thus serving as diagnostic markers.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
PhD in Microbiology, Epidemiology, Genetics, Genomics, Bioinformatics or related fields.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Research Experience in Microbiology, Epidemiology, Genetics, Genomics, Bioinformatics or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The successful candidate will possess a strong research background in experimental microbiology, ideally with experience studying antibiotic resistance.
