Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (www.pharmacy.unc.edu) is one of five health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health, Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is one of the oldest health science academic programs at Chapel Hill. Position Summary
This role is responsible for the project which involves developing small molecule inhibitors and sensors for key metabolizing enzymes in lipid signaling pathways, and to identify targets of bioactive leads compounds from phenotypic screens. Specifically, the candidate will develop chemical probes and technologies that will be used to target Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Chemical Biology, or related field of study

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience with chemical neurobiology or lipid biochemistry is preferred.
