Position Summary
The Roth lab at UNC-Chapel Hill is looking for Postdoctoral fellows in the field of GPCR structural biology. This position ideally requires someone with experience in purifying and crystallizing membrane proteins and would ideally also be complemented by an additional background in molecular pharmacology. Main duties will involve construct design, expression in baculovirus and mammalian expression systems, membrane protein purification, LCP crystallization and data collection and processing using CryoEM. The researcher is expected to carry experiments from molecular biology to a fully refined structure, and complement structural data with biochemical and biophysical assays.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
PhD in the field of Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Must be motivated and have a strong background in biochemistry and/or structural biology. Experience with basic molecular biology, protein expression, purification and biochemical characterization is required. In addition, prior experience in either membrane protein biochemistry or macromolecular crystallography will be an added advantage.
