Position Summary
The objective of this position is to serve as a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Brian Conlon’s lab. His laboratory investigates interactions of the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus with the host and other pathogens how these interactions determine treatment efficacy. This work involves genetic manipulation of Staphylococci, tissue-culture, innate immune cell characterization and manipulation and mouse infection models.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
PhD in biological sciences and/or related field of study
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience in project management and assay development and implementation
Experience in manuscript development, writing, editing
Experience in oral presentation of research
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience working in a research/wet lab; Microbiology experience: culturing bacteria, sterile technique, phenotype assays; Molecular biology experience: nucleic acid synthesis/purification, PCR/qPCR, gene cloning, in vitro assays. Tn-seq; Immunology: Macrophage and neutrophil tissue-culture. Flow cytometry.
Experience in training others in basic lab skills
