Position Summary | The objective of this position is to serve as a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Miriam Braunstein’s lab. Her laboratory investigates basic biology and mechanisms of pathogenesis of mycobacteria. This Postdoctoral Research position will be to study the cell wall biogenesis of mycobacteria and to explore the potential of treating mycobacteria with bacteriophages. The project will utilize genetic, biochemical, and microbiology techniques. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements | PhD in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or equivalent field. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | Experience in project management and assay development and implementation Experience in manuscript development, writing, editing Experience in oral presentation of research |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | 4 years research/wet lab experience Microbiology experience: culturing bacteria, sterile technique, phenotype assays Molecular biology experience: nucleic acid synthesis/purification, PCR/qPCR, gene cloning, in vitro assays Biochemistry: gene expression, immunoblotting Experience in training others in basic lab skills |
