Job Summary | We are seeking multiple postdoctoral researchers to join the University of Utah Infectious Disease Dynamics Group (https://www.utahinfectiousdiseasedynamics.org/ ) to contribute to efforts to the new CDC Forecasting Center-funded project Research to Improve National and Global Responses to Emerging Health Threats: Accelerating the Integration of Novel Data Streams in Mathematical Models. We are seeking a motivated PhD-level scientist to contribute to multiple research, applied modeling, and training workstreams aimed at expanding and sustaining capacities in infectious disease modeling, application, and communication. The objective of this project is to develop and implement a modeling hub with broad expertise in infectious disease forecasting, modeling, and analytics to support translational and operational science and technology advances, in near real time. As well as establish a program to develop applied modeling training and build capacity for public health institutions such as the Utah Department of Health through training and through embedding modeling experts in public health settings. As part of this project, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a broad team across The University of Utah, Veterans Affairs Salt Lake City Health Care System, and the CDC. The position will be for 1-3 years, depending on applicant interest and career plans A successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
