Job Overview

The Department of Chemical Engineering invites applications from qualified candidates to fill one postdoctoral research position in the Biomedical Colloid Lab. http://parkye.wixsite.com/ucyoonjeepark. The position is full-time for a period of one year, but may be extended pending continued research funding.

Essential Functions

Conduct research on development of drug delivery systems and examination of the drug delivery in vitro and in vivo. The research will involve colloid synthesis, polymer membrane fabrication, characterization, drug release kinetics analysis, gene expression quantification, and the efficacy test in vivo.  The postdoctoral fellow will work on hypothesis testing, experimental design, data analysis, in vitro cell culture, and preclinical (animal experiments) tests, and will mentor graduate and undergraduate research assistants. 


Required Education

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in biology, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, material science and engineering, or a related engineering or science discipline.


Additional Qualifications Considered
  • Preference will be given to applicants with experience in drug delivery using liposomes, gene expression quantification and material synthesis.
  • Part-time positions are also considered.
