Job Overview

The Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow researcher to work on a project developing cost-optimal, equitable building performance standards (BPS) in Ohio’s large cities. The project is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and led by Assistant Professor Amanda Webb.


Essential Functions
  • Conduct quantitative analysis of the energy performance of the building stock in Ohio’s large cities.
  • Use quantitative modeling results to develop data-driven BPS policies and supporting technical assistance programs.
  • Collaborate closely with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Technical Assistance Network, as well as the project’s network of government, industry, and nonprofit partners throughout Ohio. 
  • Assist in preparing project reports and manuscripts for publication in scientific journals, and present research results at conferences.
  • Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities. 
  • Play an active role in seeking career and research advice, both from the faculty supervisor and from other faculty members as well. 
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

Prior to the effective date of appointment, a PhD in Architectural Engineering or a closely related discipline.


Required Experience

In-depth experience with urban scale energy data analysis and modeling.


Additional Qualifications Considered

Prior experience working on energy policy and/or energy equity.
