PostDoc Associate - Cybersecurity - 21394

The Department of Computer Science (CS) at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow/research associate in cybersecurity. The researcher for this position will have research experience and strong track record of publications in one or more of the following areas:

  • Cybersecurity
  • Networking
  • Distributed systems and blockchain
  • Applied cryptography

The ideal candidate will also possess interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and strong drive and motivations for research. This position focuses on research and will provide great opportunities to build all aspects of the researchers’ academic profiles, including publishing research and co-writing grant proposals.

This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

The College of Engineering and Applied Science at UCCS is nationally ranked and offers degrees at the Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. levels. The CS department has 21 full-time faculty including three NSF CAREER winners.

What We Offer: 

The annual salary range for this position is $55,000 - $60,000. Funding is currently expected to last one year

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Tentative Search Timeline: 

  • The potential dates for interviews with the search committee will be the week of June 28, 2021.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in computer science, electrical and computer engineering, or related discipline
  • Research experience and strong track record of publications in one or more of the following areas: cybersecurity, networking, distributed systems, and applied cryptography

Physical Requirements: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to move. Employee is occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements, and fine motor skills.The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
