The Georgetown University Center for Children and Families (CCF) is a nonpartisan policy and research center founded in 2005 with a mission to support access to high-quality, comprehensive and affordable health coverage for all of America's children and families.
Job Overview
The Policy Associate provides research and administrative support to the work of CCF and administrative, research and scheduling support to the Executive Director of the Center for Children and Families. In their role, they necessarily apply their high level of competence and commitment, interest in health policy, and a wide range of skills in administration, communications, and administrative management skills.
As well, they play a key role in organizing CCF's annual conference and maintaining its mailing lists.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Center Operations & Event Coordination

  • Serve as lead organizational person
  • Provide meeting and conference logistical support
  • Maintain the master calendar and filing systems
  • Provide general office support
  • Coordinate CCF's annual conference held in July as a partner of a 2-person team

Administrative Support for Executive Director
  • Prepare slide presentations and provides other administrative support
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings and travel

Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
Reporting to the CCF Executive Director, the Program Assistant supports the ED and policy staff with Medicaid- and CHIP-specific research with efficiency and attention to detail, based on their experience with health policy. Their support also allows the ED to focus time and energy on research, agenda-setting and fundraising.
This position has been designated as Hybrid. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 or more years of experience
  • Interest in the substantive work of CCF, in particular Medicaid and CHIP
  • Basic administrative specialist skills

The hourly range for this position is between $20.16 and $28.48.
