Summary of Duties

Reporting to the Policy and Training Director, the Policy and Strategic Initiative Coordinator will support the university policy function and further advance the university policy process. University policies are owned by multiple offices across campus and are regularly updated and revised in consultation with OUCI. OUCI facilitates policy owners through the university policy process, which includes proposing, drafting, reviewing, approving, and implementing. The Coordinator will complete editorial reviews of policy drafts to ensure readability, accessibility, consistency with the university’s policy template, and alignment with other policies and governance documents. This individual will review supporting governance documents referred to within policies, help organize and integrate feedback from the university community, and maintain an active database and website of all university-wide policies, as well as perform various other duties to ensure the smooth functioning of the university policy process.

Under the guidance of the Policy and Training Director, the Coordinator will also support a proactive university-wide initiative to reinforce an open, ethical environment that further advances the university’s strategic plans and core work of teaching, learning, research, and service. This values and ethics initiative involves multiple work streams and extensive collaboration across colleges and units, including the Wexner Medical Center. The Coordinator will work with colleagues across the university and provide project management support, administrative support, and other support as needed to make the initiative a success.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; exceptional business/technical writing and editorial skills; exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills; detail-oriented and able to analyze complex information; ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines with minimal guidance; ability to professionally interact with all levels of diverse stakeholders throughout the university; extensive experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Desired Qualifications

Experience in policy drafting and development, coordination of broad initiatives, project management, and process improvement; facility in leading teams of colleagues toward broad goals with clear planning and specific timeframes; proven experience managing critical projects in a large organization; demonstrated ability to create and implement processes in a matrix reporting environment.

Target Salary $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 Annually
