Job Description Scope of Position The Point-of-Care Testing Coordinator is responsible for the monitoring and coordination of the point-of-care testing program for all Clinical Labs and OSU Health Systems. The POCT Coordinator is also responsible for the education of PCAs and other nursing personnel involved with use of point-of-care instruments. This position is required to document quality control of point-of-care testing including evaluation of current or new instrumentation. Proficiency testing processing, data entry, documentation and retention of records for regulatory compliance may be required. Position Summary The POCT Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the point-of-care testing for clinical labs including: training staff of proper usage of instruments, monitoring Proficiency Testing surveys at the point-of-care sites, collecting quality control results, analyzing the results, reporting and documenting corrective action and preparing reports for the laboratory medical director and associate director. This position is also responsible for all CAP PT and APT processing and documentation of results. Minimum Education Required 2-Year College Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Additional Education Desired Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Qualifications Bachelor degree in Medical Technology or Biological Science with MT certification and a minimum of 2 years clinical laboratory experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
