Department Profile

The Department of Computer Information Technology and Graphics comprises 12 full-time faculty. It enrolls about 300 students in the department’s three undergraduate degree programs: B.S. in Computer Graphics Technology, B.S. in Computer Information Technology, and B.S. in Cybersecurity. The outstanding curriculum in Computer Information Technology has resulted in the designation of a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE CDE 4Y) jointly by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the National Security Agency. The department offers a Minor in Applied Data Science to all students at Purdue University Northwest. It provides an excellent teaching and learning environment with state-of-the-art hardware and software. The College of Technology, where the department is housed, enrolls more than 70 M.S. Technology graduate students in the Computer Information Technology Concentration, and several Doctor of Technology graduate students pursuing their applied research in various technology fields, including AI.
