Position Description


Advertised Job Summary
Applications are invited for a full time, instructor position starting in August 2024.
The candidate’s duties will be to offer introductory Physics classes of STEM majors in both algebra-based and calculus-based physics.
The successful candidate must have a commitment to undergraduate teaching and help recruit and mentor students in our pre-engineering program. The Physics faculty member will also serve our small, but growing, pre-engineering program.
The University of South Carolina Beaufort is located in Beaufort County, home to Beaufort, Hilton Head Island, and Bluffton. USCB has degrees in Biology with specialties in biomedical sciences, coastal ecology, and marine biology and has a robust computer science program with degrees/focus in computational science, information science and technology and a new focus on cyber security.

Required Education and Experience
Candidates must have minimum of an earned Masters in Physics with additional graduate training in some area of engineering or applied physics desired.

The ideal candidate will have evidence of strong teaching skills, and a strong commitment to undergraduate education, and who demonstrate a program of research that can engage undergraduate students.
