Physician assistant - Vascular Surgery - Pasadena

The Physician Assistant performs a vital role in Cedars-Sinai Medical Group dedication to deliver effective and efficient quality health care services to its enrollees. Together, the collaborative Physician and Physician Assistant will share responsibility for the health and welfare of our members.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
• Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as ultrasound, CT/MRI scans, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal.
• Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, incision and drainages wound care, managing infection, as well as other responsibilities within a scope of practice.
• Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
• Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens.
• Assists surgeon in operation room procedures including cleaning, retracting, providing hemostasis, suturing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:

• Graduate, AMA accredited program
• Bachelor’s Degree required

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

• Certification by the National Commission of Physician Assistants
• CA PA Licensure by the State of California
• ACLS from the American Heart Association

Experience:

• Strongly prefer two years Physician Assistant experience in a relevant clinical area strongly preferred, e.g., general surgery, reconstructive surgery, or other surgical specialties.

Base Pay: $130,600.00 - $195,800.00
