Job Summary
Responsibilities
Attends faculty clinics and independently evaluates patients.
Participates in management decisions.
Coordinates follow-up care, including imaging/testing, consultations, or surgery.
Interprets internal/external test results.
Notifies patients of test results and management plans.
Opportunity to participate in in-office procedures including prostate biopsies and cystoscopies.
Provides clinical trial-related care, questionnaires, and management.
Works with nurse to address patient inquires via email, EPIC, or phone.
Obtains medical histories and performs physical assessments.
Travels to offsite practices as necessary in Chicago and surrounding areas.
Establishes independent clinic at least two full days per week.
Designs patient education programs that include information required to make informed health care and treatment decisions.
Evaluates goals and outcomes taking into account the benefit-versus-burden, safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness for the patient, family and the organization.
Develops diagnostic strategies and therapeutic interventions needed to achieve the goals and outcomes of the patient’s plan of care.
Performs other related work as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA).
Experience:
Clinical experience in a related area of specialty.
Licenses and Certifications:
Current Physician Assistant license/registration in the State of Illinois or eligibility to receive by start date.
Certification from the National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) by start date.

Ability to provide direct patient care in a professional and respectful manner.
Ability to provide direct patient care independently under the direction of the supervising physician.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Ability to perform detailed work.
Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks with occasional interruptions.
