Job Summary: 


Enhance academic and clinical knowledge under the supervision of the residency instructor(s), provide assessment and treatment to restore patient function that is both evidence-based and patient-centered, and contribute to the mission of the University of Missouri Health Care system.

Detailed Description:


Complete required academic coursework, participate in continuing education, and utilize available resources to foster professional growth.

Provide patient care that is evidence-based and patient-centered under the supervision of the residency instructor(s).

Complete documentation according to UMHC and department guidelines and policies.

In accordance with physician orders, skillfully provide modalities including, but not limited to, use of heat/cold, electrical stimulation, hydrotherapy, ultrasound, blood flow restriction therapy, manual therapy, casting and spinal traction.

Maintain standards in accordance with the code of ethics of the APTA and the State of Missouri Practice Act to maintain eligibility for licensure




Licensed or licensed eligible to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Missouri.


New CAPTE certified Physical Therapy program graduates must have a limited license to practice in the state of Missouri before their employment start date.  The limited permit to practice must remain in good standing.
