Position Summary

The successful candidate will administer physical therapy treatments under the direction of a physical therapist, as prescribed by physicians in order to provide rehabilitation services to patients.

PTA duties include:

  • Compiles and evaluates data on patients' responses to treatments in order to report findings to the physical therapist.
  • Confers with the physical therapists and other members of the health team in order to evaluate patient information and coordinate treatment plans.
  • Schedules patients' visits and completes billing forms for services provided.
  • Cleans equipment and stocks linen and towels
  • Completes inventory of stock and orders clinical supplies 

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical or vocational school with an Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistance from a program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in administering physical therapy treatments; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant by the State of Michigan.
