Summary

Evaluate general orthopedic and oncology patients referred for ambulatory physical therapy services and development of a treatment plan to optimize function, decrease pain and reduce/prevent the development of disabilities. The preferred candidate would have 3 years of geriatric, oncology rehab and/or lymphedema management experience, along with an interest in osteoporosis education.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team required.

Required Qualifications*
  • Master's or DPT degree in physical therapy or an equivalent combination of Bachelor's level education and experience is necessary.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in patient treatment is required.
  • Possession of a current state license to practice physical therapy in Michigan is required.
  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Program and Clinical Internship is necessary.

Graduate Non Certified Patient Care Professional Underfill: 

Employees in this classification are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience


Desired Qualifications*

  • A passion for rehab care- Taking patients the next steps to returning to independent functioning in home/work/community activities
  • A collaborative work style and positive attitude to add to our high performing multidisciplinary team
  • Prior experience and/or interest in Cancer Rehab and Geriatrics is desired
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to be collaborative and a team player
  • Three years of general orthopedic outpatient experience or internship program completion is preferred.
  • Lymphedema certification and experience treating cancer related lymphedema is desired

Work Schedule

This position is 40 hours. Clinic is open Monday-Thursday, 7am-6pm and Friday 7am-5pm. Some closing shifts are required. 4-10 hour days are possible dependent on clinic needs and candidate preference.


Underfill Statement

This position can be underfilled with a candidate that does not yet have possession of a current State license to practice physical therapy in Michigan.
