 Position Summary:

The UCI Department of Dance was founded on the principle that aspiring professionals need substantial experience in more than one form of dance and at least one academic area to succeed in the field of dance. Our vision is to inspire and prepare the next generation of dance professionals. Our department is one of the largest and most comprehensive university dance programs in the United States. Our philosophy embraces dance in its many forms, and we offer multiple levels of ballet, modern dance, jazz, tap, and a changing selection of world dance forms. Our wide-ranging array of courses include dance history, critical issues in dance, research methods, kinesiology, injury prevention and dance science, choreography, video choreography, dance and video technology, music, dance management, Labanotation, Laban Movement Analysis, repertory, performance, and special course offerings. We believe that student choreography, teaching, and scholarship benefit from exposure to many styles and approaches. The result is a stimulating, well-rounded educational experience.

Develop and implement a specialized physical therapy program for the Dance Department. Perform physical therapy evaluations and deliver individualized treatment techniques. Perform osteopathic manipulative treatments. Collaborate and consult with Faculty and Medical providers regarding appropriate utilization of physical therapy. Develop and conduct physical therapy investigations on integrative physical therapy practice and interventions. Serve as a department liaison for healthcare and community educational forums on integrative care.

Compensation Range:

Hourly Rate: $57.09

Required:

Recent (2 years) experience clinical experience as a physical therapist. Current California Physical Therapist License. Current Basic Life Support. Certification Master or Doctoral preparation in physical therapy from a recognized college or university with an accredited physical therapy program

Master or Doctoral preparation in physical therapy from a recognized college or university with an accredited physical therapy program.

Current California Physical Therapist License.

Current Basic Life Support.

Recent (within 2 years) physical therapy continuing education classes in osteopathic manipulative treatment, holistic physical therapy approaches, integrative physical therapy approaches. Experience developing and conducting physical therapy research Demonstrated ability to provide educational presentations. Demonstrated experience conducting training for physical therapy and/ or integrative physical therapy approaches. Demonstrated experience and specialized knowledge in the integrative practices of Pilates, Yoga, Tai Chi and/or Qui Gong. Recent (2 years) experience clinical experience as a physical therapist Current California Physical Therapist License Clinical internship experience in integrative or holistic physical therapy techniques and/or modalities including neuromuscular field awareness and Neuromuscular field retraining. Clinical experience/ or ability to develop competency for Osteopathic Manipulative treatment techniques within 6 mos. of hire Master or Doctoral preparation in physical therapy from a recognized college or university with an accredited physical therapy program Current Basic Life Support Certification
