Work location:  Faculty Clinic

Department:  Therapy Services

 

Salary Range:  $37.50 / hour

 

Job Summary: 

 

Provide assessment and treatment to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients who have been injured or are ill.

Detailed Description:

 

Actively identify and participate in training, education, development activities, and/or supervise Physical Therapy or Physical Therapy Assistant students to improve own knowledge and performance, including acquiring the CEU’s needed to maintain state licensure in the State of Missouri.

Administer treatment that requires the advanced skills of a licensed clinician.

Complete documentation according to UMHC and department guidelines and policies.

In accordance with physician orders, skillfully provide modalities including, but not limited to, use of heat/cold, electrical simulation, hydrotherapy, ultrasound, manual therapy, casting and spinal traction.

Maintain standards in accordance with the code of ethics of the APTA and the State of Missouri Practice Act to maintain eligibility for licensure.

Perform comprehensive patient evaluations in a time sensitive manner. Correlate data from the assessment to determine an individualized physical therapy plan of care directed toward goals based on a developmentally appropriate approach.

 

Qualifications

 

Must be licensed or licensed eligible to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Missouri.

New CAPTE certified Physical Therapy program graduates must have a limited license to practice in the state of Missouri before their employment start date. The limited permit to practice must remain in good standing to receive pay as a physical therapist until they have obtained licensure.
