Job Description
The primary purpose of this position is to provide physical therapy and education for the Hemophilia patients and their families. Identify problem areas, develop intervention plans, and assess impact of hemophilic bleeding on the patient's musculoskeletal system and nervous system and its effect on Activities of Daily Living (ADL), gait, and mobility; Create and implement treatment plans; Perform physical therapy evaluations for bleeding disorder patients during acute joint and muscle bleeding visits; Provide differential diagnosis of acute bleeding episodes, including where the bleeding episode is located based on musculoskeletal and motor expertise and musculoskeletal ultrasound; Assess neurologic and musculoskeletal impact of acute bleeding episodes in patients; Collaborate with medical team to develop a treatment plan for acute bleeding episodes; Initiate acute interventions which may include activity restrictions/guidelines, determining equipment needs, therapeutic interventions, including gait training, PRICE, and splinting for pain relief and enhancing function, exercise instruction, and follow-up planning; Effectively document all patient visits in the electronic medical record and prepare evaluations and reports; Participate in HTC research studies while following all federal research guidelines for ethical research including HIPAA and IRB regulations; Educate patients, family members, and other healthcare providers regarding management of patient's bleeding disorder, individualized approach to general fitness and activities in the context of their bleeding disorder, and bleed identification. In addition this position will create educational materials and conduct presentations within the bleeding-disorders community, to schools, and organizations who serve this population as well as local physical therapy learning institutions.  
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in the therapeutic specialty area to which assigned. Some positions may require additional training, certifications, or licensure in speech pathology, audiology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or other fields. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.  
Preferred Education and Experience
Prefer experience working with children who have Hematological disorders.

This is a part-time (.10 FTE), time limited vacancy.
This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Journey level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.
Salary Grade Equivalent: 73 (for reduction-in-force priority purposes only)
