Position Summary

The physical therapist is completely responsible for providing functional and exercise oriented physical therapy treatments to their patients and manage and supervise the aides who are providing treatment and working with their patients.

Responsibilities

  • Duties include:
    - Reports to the Director of Physical Therapy
    - Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    - Maintain full patient case load
    - Formulate complete problem-based treatment programs
    - Maintain complete, thorough and accurate daily notes for each visit including cancellations and no-shows
    - Monitor patient visits and updated prescriptions for authorization compliance
    - Produce evaluation, follow-up and discharge letters to the referring physician in a timely fashion
    - Update and progress treatment programs regularly as appropriate
    - Supervise patients at all times
    - Oversee the aide who is working with your patient
    - Complete notes into computerized notes system in a timely fashion
    - Manage patient schedule
    - Complete at least one continuing education course per year and present in-service
    - Maintain the highest levels of ethics and professionalism at all times
    - Maintain open communication with all staff and physicians
    - Must be flexible with location, hours and days and may include Saturday
    - Perform other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in education and experience plus four years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Physical Therapy

  • Current New York State License

  • 4 year of clinical experience preferred
