Job Description Summary

Physical or Occupational Therapy Researcher to support scientific investigation to study atypical and typical development in infants and children as directed in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Science and Physical Therapy Division. Working in the PEARL lab under the direction of PI Jill Heathcock will use behavioral, biomechanical, and clinical approaches; achieves and maintains reliability and fidelity on research protocols; leads data collection following a protocol, data entry, data cleaning, video conversion, labeling markers, review of the literature, writing and disseminating, and interaction with children and families are common tasks. Provides treatment and assessments based on a research protocol and in collaboration with health care systems. Understands and can lead research methods and equipment operation. Maintains accurate records of laboratory activities.

Minimum Education and Skills/Experience Required/Desired

License in PT or OT in the state of Ohio is expected. Experience with the gross motor function measure, Bayley Scales of Infant Development, and other common motor-based outcome measures are strongly considered. Previous participation in research. Ability to translate, adapt and apply academic or practical knowledge in the conduct of developmental/health science rehabilitation research is required. Contact PI directly if have experience with RedCAP, Datavyu, VICON, or on clinical trials funded by the NIH.

Master’s in education or psychology can be considered with considerable experience in assessment of infants and children maybe considered
