Central Michigan University Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry seeks a faculty member to teach undergraduate classes in physical and/or analytical chemistry to begin in August 2017. This is a part time position, at least half time, but additional classes including general and analytical chemistry laboratories may be available. Teaching experience and MS or MA in Chemistry or a closely related discipline is required while a PhD is desired.
MS or MA degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline
College-level teaching experience, of at least one academic year, lecture or laboratory, in chemistry or a closely related discipline.
Effective written and oral communication in English
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations
PhD degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline
Specialization in physical or analytical chemistry
College-level teaching experience, of at least one academic year, lecture and laboratory, in physical or analytical chemistry

The department of the Chemistry and Biochemistry offers undergraduate majors in chemistry, biochemistry, and a secondary education major in chemistry. All majors participate undergraduate research. Graduate programs include MS in chemistry, MA in Teaching College Chemistry, and interdisciplinary PhD programs in Science of Advanced Materials, Earth and Ecosystem Sciences, and Biochemistry, Cell, and Molecular Biology.
