Job Summary:

Teaching Assistant for PHYS 100/101: Intro to Physics I and II
                                                                             
We are looking for a teaching assistant to help first year engineering students in PHYS150, an introductory undergraduate mechanics course with calculus, and Math 108 and 109. The successful candidate is expected to be comfortable explaining and connecting mechanics concepts through sketches, plots, and mathematical equations. The teaching assistant will be responsible for hosting additional tutorial sessions and/or office hours and aiding the instructor. 

Full Job Description:

Compensation: $18.07/hour (undergrad), $19.07/hour (grad)

Total Hours: 3-4 hours per week

Deadline to Apply: August 31

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

Holding office hours and/or being available at other times to help students with questions related to course materials

Help instructor with managing canvas and online learning content.

Required Qualifications

  • Interest in helping first-year students succeed

  • Experience with the course material or other equivalent mechanics and calculus courses

  • Attention to detail

  • Communication and collaboration skills
