 Leads team and operates an automated calling system. Generates reports, and maintains equipment, hardware, and software. Works with leadership to set goals and strategies. Assists callers in pursuit of their performance goals and ensures that calling scripts are in alignment with the University’s priority needs.
 The Philanthropic Engagement Center (PEC) Manager leads a team of Engagement Ambassadors (Pitt students) to connect with university alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends. The PEC manager is responsible for all recruitment, training, and managing of Engagement Center Ambassadors while leveraging technology to reach Pitt constituents via phone, text, video, and email. This opportunity is a role suited for a goal-driven, ambitious individual looking to advance their career in higher education. The ideal candidate will have strong interest in fundraising, alumni relations, or student engagement. The incumbent is responsible for planning, managing, and executing multi-channel fundraising campaigns to support the efforts of Alumni Annual Giving. The PEC Manager is goal oriented and performs daily, weekly, and yearly reports to track the fundraising progress of the program and deliver strong results for university partners and meaningful engagement of our university community. The manager will build an Engagement Center culture and have the creative autonomy to customize efforts to increase overall engagement via phone, text, video, and email. Identifying successful, hard-working student ambassadors will be an important aspect of the role, as the PEC Manager will be responsible for creating and managing a student supervisor program (where applicable) to assist in their recruitment, management, and training duties. The unique schedule for the role aligns with the outreach efforts of the Engagement Ambassadors. They will maintain a schedule of 2-10pm Sunday through Thursday with flexibility as needed/approved. Supervises ongoing engagement shifts while assisting Ambassadors in pursuit of their weekly, monthly, and annual performance goals, assuring that Ambassadors collectively generate fundraising and engagement goals established for the school/area unit in combined gift and pledge revenue. Performs essential duties of the role which includes recruiting, interviewing & hiring, conducting performance reviews, documenting disciplinary actions, and overseeing other human resource administration. Manages work schedules and approves timecards. Provides professional development opportunities. Distributes and reviews work. Effectively operates an automated call/text/video/email system. Creates a strategy to effectively utilize texting, video, and email as part of a weekly engagement plan. Generates and compiles statistical reports. Helps troubleshoot and maintain the department’s hardware, software, and equipment needs. Uses the Philanthropic Engagement Center resource site to share pertinent information with ambassadors including, but not limited to, schedules, training materials, engagement plans, and ambassador resources. Conducts bi-monthly training sessions (or as needed) for newly hired Engagement Ambassadors. Conducts an all-staff training session once a semester. Creates and maintains a program to identify and utilize Ambassadors to assist in recruitment and training. Works with leadership to set goals and strategies to achieve them. Ensures that calling scripts are in alignment with university priorities such as donor retention, donor acquisition, Chancellor Circle growth, donor stewardship, and Pitt Day of Giving.
