Phase I Clinical Research Supervisor (CLIN RSCH SUPV 2)
Job Summary
The Phase I Clinical Research Supervisor will support the programmatic goals including site and subject recruitment, management, and direction of the clinical and data research coordinators, evaluation of the portfolio success, oversight of clinical processes, relationships with Phase I providers, and overall expansion of the program. This position requires a high level of organization and the ability to lead Phase I team meetings, manage slot assignment tracking, interface with the community and internal providers to grow the Phase I Program, and meet reporting requirements in a compliant manner. The Supervisor will develop and implement a dynamic and efficient infrastructure to integrate and manage Phase I activities. This position will collaborate with numerous clinical and administrative departments to ensure operational efficiency and success of the Phase I program. In addition, the Phase I Supervisor will work closely with all leaders in the Office of Clinical Research to facilitate growth of the Phase I program, maintain protocol compliance and ensure the safe delivery of high-quality care to Phase I participants.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Clinical Research Certification (SOCRA, ACRP) is required within six (6) months of hire.
  • Advanced or extensive experience in Phase I research is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Background and knowledge of the Phase I clinical trial process including clinical, operations, financial, and regulatory processes and workflows.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate information, practices and procedures and make recommendations for effective solutions, strategies and/or approaches.
  • Assesses opportunities for improvement and develops strategies to enhance and streamline Phase I processes.
  • Ability to prepare written materials of a diverse nature using correct grammar, effective diction, correct spelling and appropriate form to establish good rapport with community sites, physicians, patients, caregivers, UCDMC healthcare staff and fellow CTSU team members.
  • Ability to adapt to novel situations for which standard procedures or policies are not yet defined or need revision.
  • Ability to speak publicly and represent Phase I programmatic efforts to the community.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of computer operating systems and proficiency with word processing, excel spreadsheets and graphics software.
  • Ability to work overtime as work demands.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Provider (APP) License AND Advanced degree in related field preferred.
  • Experience in Oncology/Hematology research.

Department Description
The UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCDCCC) is engaged in building a world-class Phase I Clinical trial program that will contribute to the development of life saving therapies benefiting our community and beyond. The goal of the Phase I Clinical Program is to create a scientific and technology driven process for the evaluation, of molecular agents through clinical trials that will lead to new and highly effective therapies. This program acts as a locus for the surrounding community through the Sacramento Citywide Oncology Phase I (SCOPE) Program, the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Office of Clinical Research through the portfolio selection and successful management of Phase I clinical trials.
