OU Health Services is the ambulatory care facility on the Norman campus providing primary care services to students, faculty, staff, and dependents. We provide in-house medical laboratory and x-ray services, have a physical therapy department, and full-service pharmacy.
Assists the pharmacists in accordance with state and federal regulations, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Assists the pharmacist with regular, routine, non-judgmental, mechanical and non-discretionary tasks.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
- Responsible for following all applicable laws, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for reporting safety issues and errors in a timely manner to supervisor.
- Responsible and accountable for processing all related sales on cash registers.
- Helps health care providers and patients by greeting them in person and by phone, answering any questions and requests, and referring inquiries to the pharmacist as appropriate.
- Assists and supports the Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as ordering, receiving, checking and storing shipments of both pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter items.
- Ensures drugs are stored under proper conditions and removed from inventory upon expiration.
- Assists with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the pharmacy department is stocked with adequate supplies, is clean, neat, and orderly in condition and appearance.
- Assists with training new employees including pharmacy student assistants.
- Performs duties as assigned by pharmacists, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
- Assists pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow.
- Performs other clerical duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

Required Education: High School diploma or GED
Skills:
- Prior cash handling experience
- Proficiency on Microsoft Office programs
- Office and clerical or administrative experience to include answering telephones, filing, making copies, computer and data entry, operating office machines including copier, fax, and scanner
- Exemplary customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail
Certifications:
- Pharmacy Technician permit issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy for positions functioning within a pharmacy.
- Must obtain Pharmacy Technician permit issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire date.
Advertised Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work on feet, stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Standard outpatient, retail pharmacy and/or office.
