Required License/Registration/Certification
Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire. Must maintain annual registration thereafter and remain in good standing.
Physical Requirements
This position requires use of a computer workstation, completion of tasks with repetitive motions, and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds. This position may require personnel to wear personal protective equipment to reduce risk of exposure to work-related hazards (e.g. handling of hazardous medications).
Shift
Shift to work: a rotating 7on/7off shift with target shift coverage between the hours of 10am-9pm; Monday thru Friday and 8:00am-6:00pm on Sat/Sun. Shift is full-time with required 75 hours per 2 week pay period. Holidays and weekends are part of the rotation. Shifts, days, and location subject to change based on needs of the dept. Must be available to work full-time hours .
Job Summary
UK HealthCare is seeking compassionate, detail-oriented individuals who want to join our growing retail pharmacy team servicing UK HealthCare patients, students, faculty, staff, and community members.
The selected candidate performs basic pharmacy technician duties of filling, billing, and dispensing which includes processing prescription refills, renewals, and new prescriptions at patient facing or patient support phone stations as allowed by KY Board of Pharmacy law. Some more advanced functions may require CPhT certification. The Pharmacy Technician will demonstrate excellent customer service skills while interacting with all patients, faculty, and staff. UK Retail Pharmacy Services is committed to providing outstanding patient care to those who choose UK HealthCare. The Pharmacy Technician position requires the candidate to register with the KY Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire or on the first day on the job if previous registration has lapsed.
UK HealthCare offers candidates who do not currently hold a National Pharmacy Technician certification the opportunity to gain the 500 hours of on-the-job experience required to be able to obtain your certification. UK HealthCare provides a pharmacy technician career ladder to eligible candidates who possess National Pharmacy Technician Certification obtained through PTCB or NHA (ExCPT). The candidate must also meet the minimum requirements of the position. Pharmacy Senior Technician/UKHC positions are a grade 7 with a pay range currently at $18.50/hour-$27.31/hour. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience.

Preferred Education/Experience
Retail/hospital pharmacy experience or work in a related field is preferred. Training will be provided to the selected candidate.
