Under Pharmacist general supervision, the Pharmacy Technician 3 Per Diem- Population Health, will support clinical pharmacists in processing prior authorizations, durable medical equipment, and other medication access and clinical support activities for UCSD Health Primary Care patients. Additionally, pharmacy technicians in this setting assist in care coordination, scheduling, and patient outreach for follow up. They will also be responsible for review of clinical encounters and processing of tasks under the general supervision of population health and pharmacy department leadership and staff. Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the supervisor.

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician.

  • Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.

  • A minimum of five (5) year of retail and/or hospital pharmacy experience.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.

  • Strong patient communication skills.

  • Previous experience working with electronic health records (EHR).
  • Prior authorization pharmacy experience.
  • Patient assistance program experience.
  • Epic EHR experience (Electronic Health Records).
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $83,186 - $83,186 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $39.84 - $39.84

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
