Job Description:

The purpose of the Pharmacy Technician position is to provide assistance to the Pharmacist in all daily duties while complying with State and Federal laws and Pharmacy policies and procedures. These duties include providing courteous service, maintaining a clean and orderly appearance of the pharmacy area, collecting and entering patient information into QS1, interpreting prescription orders and their preparation. The technician also manages incoming telephone calls, provides necessary information, or directs them to the appropriate staff. Other duties include managing inventory levels, placing orders with wholesalers, and maintaining appropriate cash controls and internal/external billing.

Availability for weekend and evening coverage will be required.

Job Qualifications 


Education and Experience

  • High school diploma required

  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician required

  • Minimum of 2 years pharmacy experience required; experience with QS1 pharmacy software preferred

  • Maintain continuing education credits for Rhode Island and national certification.

  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative and interdisciplinary team
