Required License/Registration/Certification
Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
Physical Requirements
This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions; and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds. Also involves some job-related travel (less than 10% of time); exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens.
Shift
Typical shifts will be 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, but may require weekend/holiday rotations as needed. Shift and days of week subject to change based on needs of department.
Job Summary
This position will be a certified Pharmacy Senior Technician to support the Pharmacy Partners Program which extends the care of UK Healthcare pharmacy to patients of contracted entities in need of pharmaceutical care. This role provides the technical skills needed to help support the program. General technical duties are required with an emphasis on communication and customer service as well as coordination of delivery services. Will also serve as a courier for various needs of UK Healthcare Pharmacies. Will act as a participant in quality improvement projects and will require the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment. Must be able to solicit and offer constructive feedback in a positive manner. Must be a skilled communicator, possess proficient computer skills, be detail oriented, adaptable, organized, and demonstrate high levels of accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks. Must have a current, valid driver’s license and must be willing and able to safely operate a motor vehicle as part of the job responsibilities. The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum hourly rate for this position will now be $18.50/hour. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
This position requires dependability and the ability to prioritize. The successful candidate must be reliable and demonstrate excellent attention to detail. Must maintain clean driving record and be able to operate a motor vehicle safely.

Preferred Education/Experience
One year of previous work experience (in a related field). Prefer previous pharmacy tech experience or work/classes in medical field. Hired candidate must maintain state licensure in good standing. Must have 1 year of full-time (or pro-rated) pharmacy technician experience and must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
