Required License/Registration/Certification
Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
Physical Requirements
This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions; and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds. Also involves some job-related travel (less than 10% of time); exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens.
Shift
Primarily dayshift rotation during the hours of operation and may work 8hr or 10hr shifts currently scheduled 8:30am – 5:00pm or 8:00am – 6:30pm weekdays. Weekend rotation would work either 7:30am – 4:00pm or 7:00am – 5:30pm. Shift to be discussed during interview.
Position is a fully benefited position to work 80 hours in a 2 week pay period. Schedule, location of shift subject to change based on needs of the service line. May include weekend and holiday rotations as needed.
Job Summary
Assist pharmacist(s) with M2B prescription processing and distribution to patients/families within Chandler or Good Samaritan hospital(s); collect prescription and patient information required to process prescriptions under the direction of a pharmacist; deliver medications to patients; and collect payments using a point of sale system. Use of multiple computer devices and programs for adequate documentation are required. Other duties may include assisting pharmacist(s) in obtaining prior to admission medication histories; assess patient risk factors for adherence to prescribed regimens; review/enter patient allergies and triage medication related problems identified via communication with pharmacists, other providers, or patients.
This position is eligible for a recruitment bonus. Additional details will be provided during the hiring process should your application be selected to move forward.

The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum hourly rate for this position will now be $18.50/hour. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience. 

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
This position requires dependability and the ability to prioritize. The successful candidate must be reliable and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.

Preferred Education/Experience
One year of previous work experience (in a related field). Prefer previous pharmacy tech experience or work/classes in medical field. Hired candidate must maintain state licensure in good standing. Must have 1 year of full-time (or pro-rated) pharmacy technician experience and must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
