This is an onsite full time role and non-oncology.

The Investigational Drug Pharmacist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California organizes and maintains Investigational Drug Services across Cedars-Sinai Medical Services and works collaboratively with other Investigational Drug Pharmacists to provide safe and effective services. Participates in Research and IRB related activities to assure compliance with federal, state, FDA, and other regulations. Develops policies, procedures and SOPs for safe and efficient storage, preparation, distribution and control of investigational drugs. Develops educational material and provides education to healthcare professionals related to the protocol compliance. Prepares and maintains comprehensive, accurate, and timely records and reports including usage and dispensing records, collection forms, financial and budgeting information. Serves as a resource and liason for principal investigators, research sponsors, the IRB, and pharmacy.

Educational Requirements:
  • Pharm.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited school of pharmacy in the USA.

Licenses:
  • BLS certification as outlined in the Pharmacist Responsibilities in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation(C.P.R.) and Code Blue Procedure: Pharmacy Policy and Procedure
  • Board Certification in a specialty practice preferred.
  • Current pharmacist licensure in the State of California.

Experience:
  • Three years or equivalent experience as an inpatient pharmacist in a teaching medical center with experience with investigational drugs
  • Pharm.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited school of pharmacy in the USA.
  • Completion of a PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency or equivalent practice experience.

Physical Demands:
  • Frequent standing; walking, bending; reaching, occasional sitting, pushing & pulling, lifting of materials up to 40 pounds for distances to 10 feet.
  • Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices including: telephones, beepers, fire alarms, and mechanical failure alarms.
  • Sufficient mobility to access equipment, patients and other customers.
  • Able to read information on medication labels.
