Position Details:

The Opportunity:

You will use independent judgment based on knowledge of the Libraries’ and University policies and procedures to manage and facilitate the Libraries’ Human Capital Management (HCM) and Payroll activity including appointments, performance evaluations, and recruitment. You will provide assistance to the Dean of Libraries for calendaring, meetings and events, correspondence, and reports. Additionally, you will assist Area Finance Officer (AFO), Dean, Associate Deans, and Library supervisors with personnel issues that may include sensitive and confidential information. Along with managing multiple, simultaneous administrative issues and concerns as they arise to support Library employees. You will serve as a primary point of contact between the Libraries’ and internal and external constituents.


Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

  • Two or more years’ experience in an administrative office setting.

  • Experience in personnel and/or payroll functions.

  • Strong computer skills and experience using Outlook, Word, and Excel and other MS Office software.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and proficiency with HCM, time and absence, payroll, recruitment, or other Workday processes.

  • Experience with WSU policies, procedures, and business practices.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in performing duties.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple assignments with varying deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality.

  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.

Monthly Salary: $4,061.90 -  $6,092.84 | In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
