ROLE of the POSITION

As a member of the Human Resources Salary Administration unit, the Personnel Analyst 1 will assist campus department staff with resolution of payments, audit of transactions for error and completion into the HCM System.  Analysis and processing complex employment transactions, reviewing, investigating and resolving transactional issues are major components of the position.  Reporting analysis and training support are also key functions of the position.  Maintaining communication with campus on existing requirements such as the Form I-9 and resolution options while providing excellent customer service to UNLV constituents in person, email and over the phone is vital.  Weekly Schedule Monday-Friday, 8 to 5.

QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field; OR three years' experience as a Personnel Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to prioritize multiple assignments and schedules
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion. 
  • Previous Workday and high volume Payroll experience as well as direct involvement with Form I-9 and E-Verify preferred.

SALARY

Grade 32 Step 1, salary $ 45,142.56. "Step" means the number assigned by the Division of Human Resource Management to identify a specific rate of pay within a grade. Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
