POSITION SUMMARY

The Perkins Innovation and Modernization Grant Coordinator will be responsible for the management, operations and implementation for all aspects of the Pathways to Science Careers: Healthcare, Aquaculture, and Agriculture (PSC) project including supervision of staff, budget management, federal reporting requirements, program evaluation and contribution to program, department, division and institutional student success objectives. In addition, as a colleague in the high school partnerships office, the successful candidate will play an active role in innovative approaches, community involvement, and effective communication with staff, students, and our local high schools.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

PIM Grant Coordination and Administration 

  • Supervises salaried classified, adjunct faculty, and PT/Hourly staff; including recruitment, hiring, scheduling, mentoring, evaluation, and/or disciplinary action related to grant activities
  • Provides information and assistance to staff, students regarding PSC grant; fosters collaborative communication among department staff; provides problem solving and guidance for staff and student issues
  • Directs all aspects of Dept. of Education PIM grant in accordance with federal regulations, institutional procedures, and approved grant application to achieve PIM objectives as described in the grant application.
  • Develops PIM Schedules, in consultation with Deans, faculty and staff; monitor enrollments; oversee the input of faculty assignments.
  • Prepare and submit, in consultation with faculty, new and revised non-credit curriculum; 
  • Initiates and monitors all PIM data collection and analysis
  • Analyzes target market needs and develops appropriate activities and services; oversees curriculum and grant program development. Plans and coordinates information/promotional campaigns for PIM; advises and organizes scheduling of student events and activities
  • Provides program information to the mass media; coordinates design and publication of printed materials for programs
  • Participates in various related local, state, and national organizations and events; attends meetings and serves on committees. Participates in meetings as appropriate and keeps college administrators informed of the needs and outcomes of the HEP grant. Serves as resource person for guidance, problem solution, and training
  • Analyzes and evaluates policy and internal operations; recommend changes, communicate results, and work collaboratively in a team environment to advance identified interests
College and Community Liaison
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with school districts, industry and community-based organizations, universities, local businesses, individuals, and appropriate OCCC and CCC departments. Meets regularly with the Advisory Committee and staff to develop plans for program implementations; evaluates programs and recommends improvements
  • Consults with faculty, administrators of support services to students; maintains regular contact with campus unit heads of student services
  • Serves as liaison with related federal and state offices, other Perkins managers, and school administrators in the MWEC consortium
Budget/Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Responsible for preparing, implementing, and monitoring program budget and expenditures, including distribution of equipment, stipends and supplies purchased with grant funds, as well as preparing financial reports
  • Oversees the collection and maintenance of project data and participant records; prepares all reports for U.S. Department of Education

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
-AND- 
Experience in project coordination, and federal grant reporting/data collection
-AND- 
Experience in preparing, implementing, and monitoring budgets

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • This is a 100%, 12-month exempt assignment of the C3 band and grade
  • This is a grant funded position with a current end date of January 31, 2027
  • This position has a 1-year probationary period
  • All positions at Chemeketa are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college.
  • Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends
  • This position may require the use of your personal vehicle for transportation between campus locations
  • Requires the provision of official transcripts upon hire
  • Employees must maintain Oregon, Washington or Idaho residency as a condition of employment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

Sedentary Work:   Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary requirements are met.

Chemeketa Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan.
