Job Summary
Purpose of this position is to administer the PeopleSoft applications. This includes managing the administration, configuration, and maintenance of the application server; monitoring the process scheduler; researching problems to determine the appropriate solution; monitoring the release of PeopleSoft patches, upgrades and fixes and assessing the impact on the current environment; working with users to determine which upgrades are mandatory or urgent; migrating projects through the various environments; enforcing the documentation standards that have been established; developing a detailed project plan for migrating patches and fixes through the various environments; consulting with management on complex application projects, software, work methods or procedures.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience or associate’s degree and 4 years of related experience or high school diploma and 6 years of related experience.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field and At least four (4) experience years performing duties similar to those described above & using specific technical tools or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience as a PeopleSoft Administrator, with PS version 9.0+.
  • Experience & proficiency with PeopleTool & other PeopleSoft tools noted.
  • Experience in analysis, design & development of technical architectures & infrastructure to support PeopleSoft implementations.
  • Experience in administration of multi-platform distributed processing environments.
  • Experience maintaining multiple versions of PeopleTool & PeopleSoft applications.
  • Experience installing & configuring PeopleSoft environments (Internet Architecture, WebLogic, Tuxedo & application / batch servers).
  • Experience in debugging complex infrastructure, application & database-related issues.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft FSCM, HCM, CS.
  • Experience with Oracle DBA tasks.
  • Experience with Oracle 12c, 19c
  • Experience in Higher Education & knowledge of Higher Education business practices
  • Hands-On experience with Portal Technologies – Configure and maintain key features of Portal such as Homepages, Portal Sites, Content Management, Portal Registry, Pagelets, and Navigation Collections.
  • Hands-On experience with PeopleTools – Competency with PeopleSoft Development Tools: Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine, App Packages, Work Centers, Dashboards, Workflow. Experience with PeopleSoft Fluid Development: Fluid Pages, Tiles, Landing Pages, Dashboards, Fluid Approval and Notifications
  • Hands-On experience with Integration Broker – Integration Gateways, Service Operations, Messages, Handlers, Routings and Monitoring. Integrate new interfaces and messaging for the Interaction Hub. Implement integration between PeopleSoft Interaction Hub, HCM, CS and FSCM applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
PeopleSoft Technical Administration & Enhancement to include:
  • Technical environment support & management of PeopleSoft Internet Architecture on Windows and Linux platforms – this includes planning, installation, configuration, tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting & change management of PeopleSoft Batch, Database, Application & Web servers. 10%
  • Configuration & support of multiple Application Server & Web Server Domains for Production and Non-Production environments & multiple Process Schedulers.10%
  • Implement software, hardware & configuration changes to improve system performance. 5%
  • Network review, troubleshooting & resolution of Proxy Servers, Firewalls, Web Application Firewalls, VPN Servers & Load Balancing. 5%
  • Issue review, troubleshooting & resolution for all PeopleSoft components; online & batch including maintenance of an issue repository & coordination of issues & problems with Oracle Global Support. 10%
  • Monitoring & maintaining a comprehensive set of performance metrics for all system features. 5%
  • Configure & administer EIPs (Enterprise Integration Points) between multiple PeopleSoft applications. 5%

PeopleSoft Technical Environment Maintenance to include:
  • Migration of PeopleSoft Objects & Data between PeopleSoft environments as requested by developers. 5%
  • Perform detailed comparisons between PeopleTools environments using PeopleSoft Compare reporting capability to make sure migrations are successful. 5%
  • Applying PeopleTools updates and patches to all components of technical architecture. Application Engine Batch, Online, Application Server (Tuxedo) & Web Server. 5%
  • Applying PeopleSoft application Patches, PUMs, PRPs, and DPK to Batch & Online objects. 5%
  • Upgrades including PeopleTools minor & major release functional/technical upgrades. Must include move to production test experience & use of PeopleSoft Change Assistant. 5%
  • mpact analysis & comparison of PeopleSoft objects during upgrades & communication with Developers over any impacts. Re-integration of project customizations. 5%
  • Maintenance and technical support of PeopleSoft tools 5%

Other PeopleSoft Application Technical Tasks to include:
  • Assisting as technical resource with all general support & infrastructure problems & projects. 5%
  • Participating in on-call responsibilities & respond to / resolve emergency issues after hours via cell phone/pager & onsite as necessary 5%

  • Position requires participation in an on-call rotation, including responsibilities to respond/resolve emergency issues after hours.
  • Position location will be discussed during the interview process. Available locations for this role are Fort Worth, TX and Richardson, TX.
  • Hybrid remote work environment available. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement is required upon employment. Must have the ability to be on Richardson campus with 48 hours of notice.
