Job Description Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting with administrative duties in all areas of basic office administration, i.e., greeting/assisting customers, filing, copying, etc.
Job Description:
Required Qualifications:
- Education: A High School diploma or GED
- Work Experience: Be a past or present consumer of behavioral health services
- Skills: Required Specific Skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Preferred Degree(s) and Field(s) of Study
- Work Experience: Years of Experience in Work Field(s)
- Skills: Complete KDADS Certified Peer Specialist certification prior to beginning work
Job Duties Outlined:
Provide peer support to library patrons with mental health and substance use problems
- Provide information and education about the recovery process
- Refer to other Douglas County services, when appropriate
- Collaborate with and provide consultation to library staff, to enhance skill and effectiveness in communicating with library patrons with mental health problems
- Adhere to appropriate professional boundaries with these individuals and provide education about the treatment and/or recovery process
- Provide coordination, recommendations, documentation related to patron encounters
