Position Summary
The Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (GPAM) and North Carolina Children’s Hospital is recruiting a board-certified / eligible pediatrician for a full-time, fixed term clinical and educational position. Rank will be determined at the time of hire. We are seeking a pediatrician who will work primarily in two clinical areas as a primary care provider in a community-based pediatric primary care practice and as a preceptor in the pediatrics resident continuity clinic.
The community-based pediatric primary care practice is in Cary, North Carolina, and part of the thriving UNC (University of North Carolina) Physician Network. This practice, UNC Pediatrics at Panther Creek, is committed to providing high quality, evidence-based family-centered medical care to a diverse patient population. The practice offers extended and weekend hours and online scheduling. Committed to comprehensive, wrap-around care, the practice offers chronic disease care coordination and behavioral health consultation. The provider’s schedule will complement another UNC faculty member such that coverage of each other’s patient panel can occur when the faculty member is off site.
The precepting position at UNC Children’s Primary Care Clinic supports residents in their continuity clinic training experience. The clinic is an innovative academic practice with a focus on evidence-based clinical care, community advocacy, resident education, and high-quality research. The preceptor participates in onsite didactic presentations, quality improvement initiatives and practice management. The practice, which now includes lactation services, integrated behavioral health and an adolescent specialty clinic, continues to grow and thus additional clinical opportunities may also be possible if desired.
Applicants from groups underrepresented in Medicine are strongly encouraged to apply.
GPAM is one of the largest divisions in the Department of Pediatrics and includes outpatient care, child abuse pediatrics, adolescent medicine specialty care, developmental behavioral pediatrics, and other affiliated specialty services. The division has a nationally known and productive research program and a long record of teaching excellence. The Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area of North Carolina is an attractive place to live and work with a great climate, schools, and both mountains and beach within a day’s drive.
