Position Summary
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the North Carolina Children’s Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Endocrinologist for a fixed-term, open-rank faculty position to support the Division’s clinical and academic activities. North Carolina Children’s Hospital is a top-tier academic medical center, with a mission to align clinical care, advocacy, research, and education to deliver world-class family-centered care. The Hospital is ranked among the best children’s hospitals by US News and World Report and USNWR recently ranked UNC Pediatric Endocrinology #16 in the country. The Division is also accredited by the American Diabetes Association.
The faculty member will report directly to the Division Chief of Pediatric Endocrinology and will join a well-established team of medical professionals, including board-certified pediatric endocrinologists, pediatric endocrinology fellows and pediatric residents, Certified Diabetes Educators, nutritionists and nurses who work together to provide the best care to the patients of UNC Children’s Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes services. Specialty services/clinics include:
* Diabetes mellitus
* Clinic for Gender Wellness 
* Turner Syndrome Program – Nationally recognized clinic by the Turner Syndrome Global Alliance and Turner Syndrome Society of the United States
* Multidisciplinary Prader-Willi Syndrom Clinic
* Disorders of Sexual Development (DSD) multidisciplinary team
* Lipid Disorders
Clinical duties include inpatient and outpatient care of children with diabetes and other endocrine disorders. Outpatient clinical activities will occur at the UNC Children’s Specialty clinics located in Chapel Hill, NC and Raleigh, NC, along with opportunities for regional care. Involvement in quality improvement and clinical research/medical education projects is also expected.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
The successful candidate will be MD or MD/PhD educated and board certified/eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology.
