Position Description:

A Research Post Doc Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jessica Foster at the Center for Childhood Cancer Research at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN). This position is part of a research program to develop immunotherapies for pediatric brain tumors. The laboratory uses mouse models as well as cell lines and patient-derived xenografts to recapitulate the human disease and test novel therapeutics. Our main focus is developing chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell approaches for pediatric brain tumors. This highly translational work will be used to inform clinical trials for pediatric patients.


Qualifications:

Strong experimental skill in basic molecular biology techniques are a prerequisite (DNA, RNA, protein analysis, cloning, cell culture, multi-parameter flow cytometry, cytotoxicity).

Strong preference will be given to candidates with at least two or more of the following specific skills:


  • Experience in mouse brain tumor models, including stereotactic surgery
  • Experience in genetically engineered models of cancer, including breeding, neonatal surgery, and colony maintenance
  • Experience in advanced confocal microscopy
  • Experience in advanced in vivo imaging techniques including IVIS and MRI
  • Experience in adoptive cellular therapeutics
