Library Technology Assistant

Job description 

The Library Technology Assistant will be responsible for evaluating and maintaining library-specific technology hardware and software and all related items.

Position Responsibilities:  

  • Supports library-specific technology and services, including Digitization Lab equipment, microform readers, environmental sensors, and various other printers, scanners, and equipment.
  • Handles day to day installation, maintenance, minor repair, and troubleshooting of the library-specific hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • User management for library-specific software technology (Atlassian, Alma, Blackboard, etc.)
  • Works closely with the OU IT team embedded in the Libraries.
  • Supports the library technology service desk ticketing queue.
  • Creates and maintains documentation and statistics, such as inventory lists, process documentation, and usage data.

 

Job Requirements

 Required Education: High School Diploma or GED, AND:

  •  24 months office, clerical, or administrative experience.

Skills:


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with end-users at varying technological skill levels.
  • Previous experience in a customer service environment and commitment to customer service excellence.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • Experience in policy development or product documentation .
  • Technology proficiency and capabilities working with library-relevant information technology applications.
