The Digitization Lab Assistant will support the Digitization Lab Coordinator in administration of the daily lab operations, workflows, and activities.

  • Assists with student employee hiring, scheduling, and supervision, including assignment and monitoring of daily tasks.
  • Assists with project and assignment tracking in support of day-to-day workflow and production schedules for digital projects.
  • Monitors and maintains records of requests and digitization. Assists with maintenance of project documentation, and training and procedural documentation. 
  • Performs workflows to share files with Libraries staff and other stakeholders. 
  • Provides routine information to inquiries, requests, and other communications; for complex needs, refers to the appropriate person. 
  • Manages routine communication and assists with complex communication with appropriate Libraries teams, and with University and external service providers and equipment vendors.
  • Assists with scheduling, transport, and tracking of materials for digitization. Contributes to safe handling of rare and unique materials.
  • Organizes and schedules meetings, and prepares meeting documentation. 
  • ·     Monitors and orders supplies. Prepares routine forms.
 

Job Requirements

 Required Education: High School Diploma or GED AND: 

  • 24 months of office, clerical or administrative experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree

Skills:


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with end-users at varying technological skill levels. 
  • Effective supervisory skills. 
  • Ability to build and sustain effective interpersonal relationships. 
  • Current office technology skills including experience with spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Ability to readily learn and use technology and software.
