Summary of Duties:

The Patient Services Representative provides support services Counseling and Psychological Services. Duties include rescheduling patient appointments, triaging client telephone calls for clinicians, processing new patient paperwork and confidential information. This position is responsible for maintaining patient records and providing general information about Counseling and Psychological Services to patients, faculty, staff, students, and the public about services and certain policies and procedures.


Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of general office experience or one year of office or customer service experience in a healthcare setting; OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, Outlook and/or Access.

  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.

  • Knowledge and use of Electronic Health Records.

  • Documented on-the-job experience in a mental health or medical clinic.

  • Experience working with or knowledge of the RCW (chapter 70.02) and the HIPAA of 1996 and FERPA, pertaining to the release of protected health information.

Monthly Salary:

Range 38 | $3,220 to $4,282 (steps A-M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 .
