Summary

The Pediatric Specialty Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU) is the clinical home for children and families seeking care across multiple pediatric subspecialties at C.S. Mott Children?s Hospital. The primary mission of the ACU is to partner with our doctors, nurses, and other providers to deliver excellent care and customer service. We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and self-driven Patient Service Intermediate to provide operational support to the ACU. This individual will share our priorities which include: high quality medical care, excellent customer service, safety of staff and patients, efficiency, employee satisfaction, stewardship of resources and the ideal experience for our patients, families, and employees.

Responsibilities*
  • Template Editing: Review and Process permanent and temporary template changes. 
  • Responsible for opening and closing of templates. 
  • Responsible for following ACOC Guidelines and communicating expectations to stakeholders. 
  • Responsible for communication to staff and faculty regarding permanent and temporary changes.
  • Room Allocation: Responsible for managing exam room allocation and metrics.
  • Back-up coverage:  provide back-up coverage to Clinical PSA team.
  • Miscellaneous - Other duties as assigned by the administrative manager senior

Required Qualifications*
  • Associate degree and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  •  3-4 years of experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, as well as other database, e-mail, and calendar-keeping software.
  • Experience with MiChart (Cadence and Reporting Workbench), Credentialed Super User desired.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to successfully work with all levels of faculty and staff.
  • Must possess demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, prioritize, manage multiple assignments, and follow through on job responsibilities.
  •  Demonstrates ability to collaborate with others in a team environment, and display leadership through problem-solving and the initiative to advance knowledge.
  • Team oriented individual
  •  Demonstrated excellent attendance record.

Desired Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Healthcare Administration.
  • Strong office computing experience required, advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications are highly desired.
  • Considerable knowledge of university policies and procedures related to the responsibility of this job.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
