A part of the Texas A&M University Health Science Center, Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas was founded in 1905 and is a nationally recognized center for oral health sciences education, research, specialized patient care and continuing dental education.

The School of Dentistry is looking for a patient service associate to serve as a member of the Clinical Affairs team. We desire an individual who subscribes to and supports our commitment as stated above. The successful applicant will bring an expert level of experience to the position and understand the demands of supporting executives in a fast-paced environment. This person must be professional, enjoy working in a high-volume environment and be able to apply strong organizational skills while being flexible in their daily routine. Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Two years of related experience in general office setting

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and use of a multiline phone system

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications

  • Knowledge of standard office protocol and the use of standard office equipment

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Some college credit hours

  • Two years of related experience - Customer Service, Working multi-line telephone lines experience

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bilingual

Responsibilities:

  • Patient service Associate - Welcomes and checks in patients, assisting them with their questions and needs. Gives out paperwork for screening and emergency extraction clinic and takes pictures in electronic medical record. Schedules patient appointments (by phone and in person) and confirms appointments by making reminder calls. Retrieve mail in the morning and afternoon. Assists Patient Manager on various projects. Prepares paperwork for patients to complete and also for distributing to public

  • Duty Title - Assist in collecting data from various sources and entering into spread sheet. Assists with replacing drugs in emergency kits. Translate as needed in clinics. Performs other duties as assigned.
