The Health Science Center (HSC) is looking for a Patient Relations Administrator to serve as a member of the Primary Care & Population Health team. We desire an individual who subscribes to and supports our commitment as stated above. Job Description Summary

The Patient Relations Administrator is responsible for handling patient concerns/complaints, and responsible for providing assistance as needed. This position will work with a variety of customer types and represents the clinic at various community meetings.


Qualifications

Required Education:

Associates degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Required Experience:

Three years of relevant experience.

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Excellent customer service skills.

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a variety of customers.

Handles protected health information (PHI) as defined by HIPAA.


Job Responsibilities: 

Patient Correspondence

Corresponds with patients regarding insurance issues (i.e. COBs, PCPs, Out-of-Network) and financial matters.

Billing Office Liaison

Work with billing office on denied claims due to insurance and registration issues.

Financial Assistance Coordinator

Process patient applications for financial assistance and refer to area services and programs for social assistance as needed.

Monitor QI Programs

Monitors and maintains quality incentive programs.

Address Patient Concerns

Listens, records, researches and resolves patient concerns and complaints. Prepares narratives detailing patient complaints and works with student, faculty and staff to provide solutions. Collects, maintains and tracks patient complaints.

Clinic Representative

Represent the clinic at meetings with various community programs and services that we can refer patients to.

Other Duties

Performs other duties as assigned.
